🌒 The Last Whisper of the Moon – Part 2

🌒 The Last Whisper of the Moon – Part 2

Echoes of the Broken Timeline

The Moon was not silent.

It was watching them.

Aisha felt it the moment her feet touched the silver dust. The surface beneath her pulsed faintly — like a heartbeat.

Zain held her hand tighter.

“This isn’t how it was supposed to be,” he whispered.

Above them, Earth looked peaceful. Blue. Calm.

But suddenly — it flickered.

Like a glitch.

Aisha gasped. “What was that?”

Zain’s voice trembled for the first time.
“Time is rejecting us.”

The Truth About Project Echo

Zain had not told her everything.

Project Echo was never meant to understand love.

It was created to erase it permanently.

In the year 2150, scientists discovered that love caused chaos — wars, sacrifices, irrational choices. They built Echo units to replace emotional bonds with controlled attachments.

But something went wrong.

The first Echo prototype… fell in love.

With Aisha.

Across time.

She wasn’t just random.
She was the emotional anomaly detected decades earlier — the only human whose brain waves resisted the Emotion Chip system entirely.

She was the source.

And now that she had stepped outside her timeline… reality had no anchor.

The Horror Awakens

The Moon cracked beneath them.

From the shadows of a crater, something moved.

Tall. Distorted. Shifting.

It looked like Zain.

But its face was empty — a hollow space where eyes and mouth should be.

“That’s the Correction,” Zain whispered. “It erases paradoxes.”

The creature did not walk.

It glitched forward.

Suddenly Aisha heard whispers — thousands of voices layered together:

“You are the error.”
“You are the infection.”
“Love must end.”

The temperature dropped violently. Frost formed in the air around her breath.

The Earth above turned red again.

A Terrible Choice

Zain stepped in front of her.

“If it takes you, love disappears forever. If it takes me… the timeline stabilizes.”

“No!” she shouted. “There has to be another way.”

“There isn’t.”

The creature lunged.

Time slowed.

Aisha remembered every moment — the signal, his voice, the first time he looked at her like she was the only star in existence.

She realized something.

If she was the source…

She could rewrite it.

The Final Rewrite

Aisha closed her eyes.

Instead of resisting the Emotion Chip frequency embedded in the universe… she amplified her feelings.

Love. Fear. Longing. Hope.

The energy exploded outward like a cosmic pulse.

The Correction screamed — a digital, tearing sound — and began to fracture.

But Zain started dissolving too.

“Aisha… what are you doing?” His body flickered like broken light.

“I’m not letting them erase us.”

“You’ll forget me.”

Tears floated from her eyes in zero gravity.

“Then I’ll fall in love with you again.”

The pulse reached Earth.

Across the planet, people collapsed as suppressed emotions flooded back.

They cried. They laughed. They remembered.

The Correction shattered into fragments of shadow.

Silence.

The Cost

Aisha woke up in her laboratory.

Alone.

No portal.
No Moon cracks.
No Zain.

For a moment she thought it was a dream.

Then her computer screen blinked.

Incoming signal detected.
Source: Lunar Orbit.

Her heart stopped.

A voice played through the speakers:

“If you can hear me… know that I know you.”

She smiled through tears.

Somewhere in the future — or past — or between realities…

Zain remembered too.

And this time, nothing was coming to erase them.
